Vitaliy, known by the callsign "Texas," serves as a scout in the 118th Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces in Cherkasy Oblast.
Before the massive Russian invasion, he ran a small business, raised his son Anton, and had a passion for precision shooting. Everything changed for him in February 2022. Alongside like-minded individuals, he joined the 118th Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces and became a member of the aerial reconnaissance unit.
During a combat mission in the Bahmut direction in August, he suffered severe injuries from artillery shelling, resulting in the loss of both his legs. After undergoing extensive medical treatment and rehabilitation, he had to learn to walk again.
With his "new legs" in place, Vitaliy returned to his original aerial reconnaissance unit. His knowledge and experience are invaluable to his comrades who are still mastering the demanding role of a scout. "Texas" mentors newcomers, emphasizing the importance of sharp eyesight, quick thinking, and skilled hands in aerial reconnaissance.
