Ukrainian World Congress and #UniteWithUkraine Participate in Meeting of International Partners and The State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
Andrew Potichnyj, director of the Unite with Ukraine initiative at the Ukrainian World Congress, and Serhiy Kasyanchuk, director of the UWC Mission to Ukraine participated in a meeting at the invitation of the Deputy Head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, Roman Prymush regarding cooperation and coordination of international, foreign governmental and non-governmental partners providing further assistance to Ukraine in the framework of humanitarian demining.
Participants included the Ukrainian World Congress, UN Development Programs in Ukraine (UNDP), US State Department, Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining “GICHD” Japanese International Cooperation Agency "JICA", Swedish International Development Agency "SIDA”, Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and representatives from ten international governments.
As part of its #UniteWithUkraine initiative, UWC has partnered with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine to support demining teams in their efforts to decontaminate cities and villages polluted with thousands of tons of deadly explosive ordnances left behind by occupying Russian forces.
The world needs to do more to step up and defend Ukraine's democratic right to determine its own future.
