Unite With Ukraine procures 25 British armoured vehicles for the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian World Congress, as part of its #UniteWithUkraine initiative, has delivered the first lot of six FV103 Spartan and FV432 APC armoured evacuation vehicles to Ukraine.
The FV103 Spartan is a tracked armoured personnel carrier of the British military. A light weight, fast and maneuverable vehicle that can carry up to seven passengers with a reinforced welded aluminum 60-millimeter-thick body that protects from shrapnel and large-caliber ammunition fire.
Since its introduction into service, The FV432 APC has become the most common armoured vehicle capable of transporting and evacuating up to twelve personnel on the battlefield.
According to Andrew Potichnyj, director of the Unite with Ukraine initiative, the "armoured" project was initiated by the Ukrainian World Congress jointly with the Territorial Defense Forces command in October of last year. Thus far, the first six vehicles have arrived in Ukraine, while a total of twenty-five such armoured vehicles have been procured and will be deployed directly into combat zones in the very near future.
"This equipment is critically important, as it enables our forces not only to execute operational tasks, but to additionally perform medical evacuations of both civilian populations and military personnel when deemed necessary", emphasized coordinator of the project, officer of the command of the TDF, Oleksandr Muzyka.
Commander of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, major general Ihor Tantsyura expressed his gratitude to the worldwide Ukrainian community, "Currently, Ukrainians around the world have united against this evil that exists today. I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who has supported, and continues to support Territorial Defense!"
The Ukrainian World Congress, as part of its #UniteWithUkraine initiative has provided more than $40 million in aid to the Territorial Defense Forces, the Armed Forces of Ukraine as well as other security structures, and continues to raise funds to support Ukraine.
