Unite With Ukraine together with our partner, Mriya Aid are pleased to announce that we have successfully delivered 10 Fury Drones to Ukraine’s frontline defenders along with training for drone operators.
From surveillance to search-and-rescue, these drones are a key element of Ukraine’s defense against the Russian invasion. Aiding in intelligence and reconnaissance, such as guiding Ukrainian artillery strikes, drones have also been very important in fighting against Russian misinformation by helping to provide images and video of Ukrainian strikes, as well as bringing images and footage to the world about the atrocities Russian forces have been committing in Ukrainian cities and villages.
The training and delivery of the drones was also made possible by global drone experts Volatus Aerospace and UAVTEK who have been engaging in direct consultations with three Ukrainian frontline territorial defense units.
“The Mriya Aid team is very grateful for this partnership with UWU, UAVTEK, Volatus Aerospace, executed with outstanding support from Security Forces of Ukraine. This equipment will change outcomes for defenders of Ukraine and the innovative link between the drone manufacturers and frontline units gives them a voice in the selection and assembly of the equipment to ensure it best meets their needs,” said Melanie Lake, Chairperson for Mriya Aid. “The training in Ukraine provided by the manufacturers provided an outstanding opportunity to exchange information that will ensure our next drone shipment is even more tailored to their requirements. Thank you to everyone whose donations made this possible!” she continued.
According to Volatus Aerospace, whose expertise lies in drone imaging and inspection, security and surveillance, equipment sales and support, training, design, manufacturing, and R&D, the Fury was shortlisted as the best possible UAV to be sent to the frontlines.
The Fury has a custom-built Daytime and Night (Thermal) Stabilized Camera. It has the UAVTEK proprietary Autopilot, Secure Datalink, which delivers dual video streams, ip55 Rugged Controller and a Military Spec. Transport Case.
The training on how to operate the drones was completed by British manufacturer of aerial and ground unmanned systems, UAVTEK. UAVTEK, who manufacture the drones will continue to refine the UAV systems in accordance with almost real time operator feedback and provide a one-year remote support and parts warranty.
President of the Ukrainian World Congress, Paul Grod expressed his gratitude to Mriya aid, he said “We’re so grateful to our strategic partners, Mriya Aid, an inspiring network of international volunteers who share a common goal with Unite With Ukraine to provide Ukraine’s defenders with non-lethal equipment including UAVs as the war rages on. We are also very grateful to the team at Volatus Aerospace and UAVTEK for their passionate involvement in making our pilot joint mission an overall success.” He continued that, “The use of drones in this war is proving to be critical. This is just the first of hopefully many more deliveries of this vital equipment which we hope to deliver to the frontline. In fact, we have just signed an MoU with the Ministry of Digital Transformation to assist with a further delivery of 200 drones in the coming weeks.”
