Unite With Ukraine is proud to announce a new strategic partnership with UNITED 24, an initiative launched by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy as the main outlet for collecting charitable donations in support of Ukraine.
The goal of the project is to raise funds to purchase 200 professional unmanned drone systems for aerial reconnaissance. These drones can fly for up to 24 hours at a distance of up to 160 kilometers and at an altitude of up to 5 kilometers. They are equipped with multiple thermal imaging cameras, position sensors and software. They are also difficult to detect and, therefore, difficult to shoot down. They are vital pieces of equipment that Ukraine’s defenders need in order to fight off the Russian invasion.
"Right now, the Army of Drones is United24's priority in defense and de-mining. These drones are a priority on the frontline. This war is one not only of people but also of technology. We must have an advantage over the enemy in every sphere. Therefore, we are grateful to the Ukrainian World Congress for their support," stated Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
The UWC is a united diaspora group which represents the interests of more than 20 million Ukrainians around the world. From the day that the unprovoked invasion began, the UWC has been helping to fight the Russian army both by providing factual and important information about what is happening on the ground in Ukraine but also, more specifically, by purchasing and successfully delivering equipment for the defenders of Ukraine through their global Unite With Ukraine campaign.
"From the first days of the war, the Ukrainian World Congress has been making great efforts to strengthen international support for Ukraine and help Ukrainian defenders to protect their land. We are currently stepping up our assistance together with United24 and the Army of Drones project. We continue to use all opportunities to provide the defenders of Ukraine with the opportunity to gain a technological advantage and victory in this war, where Ukraine is protecting the world from the global aggressor and terrorist," emphasized UWC President Paul Grod.
Work on procuring and delivering the Army of Drones has already begin.
The project involves the systematic purchase, repair and replacement of drones, as well as a training course for operators. The first goal is to buy 200 reconnaissance-level drones with up to 24 hours of autonomy and to assemble thousands of simpler UAVs.
Anyone can transfer funds or send their own drone. If you are outside of Ukraine and want to donate your drone, it must be sent to the Help Ukraine Center hub in Poland or the USA. Residents of Ukraine can send the drone by "Novaya Pochta". At the branch you need to say that the delivery is for the AFU to the "Drone Army". After that the operator will arrange the parcel himself.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation and United24 ask to send drones with the following technical characteristics:

UNITED24 was launched by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy as the main venue for collecting charitable donations in support of Ukraine. Funds will be transferred to the official accounts of the National Bank of Ukraine and allocated by assigned ministries to cover the most pressing needs.
#UniteWithUkraine enables anyone, anywhere to provide support for the Ukrainian people as they fight for freedom, human rights and democracy. Funds raised are being used to supply an evolving range of needs to the brave men and women on the front line, including: individual first aid kits; bullet-proof vests and helmets; night-vision goggles; and communication equipment and fuel, among other things.
Established in 1967, the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) is the global voice for the Ukrainian people worldwide. As an international NGO, we represent the interests of more than 20 million Ukrainians in the diaspora, unite Ukrainian communities and organizations in 60+ countries, and work to support a democratic, prosperous, European Ukraine.
The UWC is recognized by the United Nations Economic and Social Council as a non-governmental organization with special consultative status and has a participatory status as an international non-governmental organization with the Council of Europe.
The UWC is part of the global Ukrainian family. We are working with trusted partners on procurement and logistics for this initiative. Our many long-standing relationships with organizations in Ukraine put us in a unique position to quickly and efficiently provide the defenders of Ukraine with the help that they need.
The UWC is an organization that has volunteerism at its core. Our passion for our work drives our desire to maximize the impact of every donation made. We will update our donors on the impact of their donations as the Unite with Ukraine campaign progresses.
The UWC is also leading global coordination and logistics for the Ukrainian community, and other NGO support efforts.
The world needs to do more to step up and defend Ukraine's democratic right to determine its own future.
