The Ukrainian World Congress is proud to congratulate the Kalush Orchestra for their spectacular win at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, Italy. Beating their closest competitor, the United Kingdom by 165 points, this was an historic victory not only for Kalush but for UKRAINE.
Kalush soared through the early rounds of the competition and were favourites to win as they entered the final. They gave an amazing performance which was met by loud cheers and a standing ovation and the UWC is proud to have sponsored them on their journey to Eurovision Victory!
Not only did they impress the judges and public with their emotional "Stefania", Kalush also used their platform to regularly draw attention to the horrors of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. They used the stage to call for more support for Ukraine and Mariupol and Azovstal in particular. They showed what a truly united and supportive Europe can look like and the power that music has to bring people together and fight for change.
We are so proud of everything they have achieved and of this incredible and deserved victory!
