With deepest sorrow, we mourn the loss of Yuriy Sayenko – call sign “Fox” – cousin of Kateryna Argyrou, Chair of the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations. A devoted husband and father of two young boys, Yuriy selflessly answered the call to defend Ukraine at the outset of the full-scale invasion, serving bravely with the 63rd Separate Battalion of the 103rd Brigade. He was killed by a russian FPV drone while evacuating wounded comrades, his final act of courage.
In Yuriy’s honour, we are raising funds to purchase critical tactical medical equipment that saves lives on the frontlines, like the very supplies that supported him in his mission. Let us carry forward his legacy by equipping Ukraine’s defenders with the tools they need to survive and protect others. Glory to the Heroes. Eternal Memory.
